Best wishes to my little brother, Brian as he embarks on his law school journey tomorrow. He will be attending the Thomas M. Cooley School of Law in Grand Rapids, MI. He leaves Louisville Friday morning so he can be in Lansing for his freshman orientation both Saturday and Sunday. We are really going to miss his craziness while he is away, but wish him the best of luck as he begins his dream of becoming a lawyer. I know he will succeed with honors because of his sheer determination, work ethic and dedication.
We had a going away party for him on Saturday which was a huge success. He titled the party, "Buy the Books Party", which was fitting. After all, there isn't anything about law school that is cheap. Most of his out of town friends made it to Louisville to wish him well. The party ended at The Golden Nugget and I didn't crawl into bed until the wee hours of the morning. I haven't seen 5 AM in quite some time, but the memories were well worth the lack of sleep.
This week has been bittersweet because as much as I want him to carryout his dreams, I know I will miss him terribly while he is away. I keep telling myself this is only temporary and before we know it, he will be graduating and practicing law. When I put this into perspective, we will more than likely have a child by the time he finishes law school. Wow!
Cheers to Brian!
