The Big One

I'm a bit late in posting about Tyler's First Birthday Bash, but better late than never.

We had quite a few of our family and friends over to help Tyler celebrate his first year of life.  It was a wild day to say the least but we are so thankful that so many people chose to spend their Sunday with us.  The weather was perfect so Rich was able to set up his corn hole boards outside for some adult entertainment.

A week prior, we had Tyler's first birthday pictures taken which included a smash cake, but he wasn't sure about the icing being on his hands.  He didn't really know what to do with the cake and lost interest rather quickly.  Clearly he's not my child! I thought for sure the day of his party he'd figure out what to do with the cake and really get down and dirty.  Nope.  He wanted nothing to do with it and fussed his way out of his high chair.  I think part of it was the overwhelming number of people who sang 'Happy Birthday' to him and he was going through a phase where he wasn't much on large numbers of people.  He did great when it came time for presents as he was in his own little world.  He thought that was fun!  Maybe next year he'll know how to eat cake and get a little messy.
