Friday night we celebrated Whealan's birthday with friends and had a wonderful time. Last year was rough on him as he went through an unexpected divorce all while having an eight month old little boy, Luke. He has recently been dating a girl named Keri, so Friday night was our first time to meet her. She is a wonderful person with a great personality; she fit in perfectly. I hope their relationship continues to grow and become stronger as he deserves nothing but the best.
Saturday morning I had a facial, thanks to another Living Social deal. After that, I came home and showered so we could hop on 64 East towards Lexington. We had big plans to watch the UK/Georgia rematch at Rupp Arena, which by the way, is a little piece of heaven. We had a wonderful time at the game and cheered the CATS on to victory, especially since the last time UK played Georgia, they beat us...talk about an upset! For Christmas, one of the gift cards Nan gave us was for a very nice restaurant in Lexington called Malone's. Their food is to die for and the atmosphere is fun. We dined on a nice meal before we made our way back to Louisville.
Sunday, my Mom and I went to see the hit Broadway Musical, "Rock of Ages" at the Kentucky Center for the Arts. The show was outstanding! It was wonderful to hear all my favorite 80's songs live under one roof. There were so many stars of the show, one in particular being American Idol finalist, Constantine Maroulis as Drew, a main character. The musical was in Louisville for only five days, with yesterday being the last performance. If they were in town a little longer, I would love to see the show again.
Here is a synopsis from the Rock of Ages website:
In 1987 on the Sunset Strip, a small town girl met a big city rocker and in LA’s most famous rock club, they fell in love to the greatest songs of the 80s. It’s ROCK OF AGES, an arena-rock love story told through the mind-blowing, face-melting hits of JOURNEY, NIGHT RANGER, STYX, REO SPEEDWAGON, PAT BENATAR, TWISTED SISTER, POISON,
