Rich and I both enjoyed Christmas with both families this year. We spent Christmas Eve in Winchester at Nan's house. The food was delicious and the company was delightful. Each moment we get to spend with Reagan and Clay makes for many happy memories that we will cherish forever. Christmas morning was picture perfect with the kiddos - pure happiness and eyes filled with joy as Reagan described what Santa had brought her. Clay is a little too young to fully understand all that was going on, but he was thrilled nonetheless. He loved opening the presents and playing with all the boxes, gifts and ribbons. Santa was especially generous to both Reagan and Clay - I'm so glad that we were able to spend Christmas morning with them. Children make the true spirit of Christmas come alive. Janna bought the "Elf on the Shelf" book for each kiddo so the month of December they were on their best behavior because their elves were always watching. Reagan named her elf, "Buddy" and Clay's elf was simply named "Elf." Each morning both elves were in a different spot so the kids had to find him and a little gift the elf left behind the night before. I think Janna is delighted that Christmas is over!
We headed west on I-64 Christmas afternoon so we could have Christmas dinner with my family. We went over to my cousin's house for all the fixins'. Rich watched Alex, Matthew, Ricky and Reece open their gifts and he wanted to play with them all. I have a feeling a few XBox Kinect games and pellet gun wars are in their near future. This Christmas was hard on my Mom since my Uncle Dave was not with us, plus personally she had an extremely tough year. I am glad that we were able to divert the sadness and go to Marty and Kirstie's house for some entertainment.
I see my stocking...
