The Hat Gang

Tyler has some pretty special people in his life that have also been a huge part of my life growing up.  Across the street from my childhood home are Dot and Bob.  They were more like a second set of parents to me as a child and I spent many days and nights at their house.  If I didn't like what my Mom was cooking for dinner, I would bravely walk across the street with a clean dinner plate to see if I liked what Dot was serving.  Sure enough, if her meal satisfied my taste buds better than my Mom's, I would eat at their house.  I could go on and on about stories from my childhood that involve Dot and Bob.

There was a two week gap between me going back to work and Tyler starting day care.  The reason was a personal choice on my part because he would have had to begin day care without his two month shots and I didn't want to take any chances of my baby stepping foot into a germ infested day care without any protection, other than my own anti-bodies that were passed to him through my breast milk.  Luckily, Dot and Bob are both retired so they kindly offered to keep Tyler a few days during that two week time span so I could return to life as a working Mom.  They have also helped me out when Tyler got his first stuffy nose - I chose to send him to Mamaw Dot's and Papaw Bob's to stay rather than day care.

They spend the winter months in Florida so when the time comes for them to pack up for their journey down south we are all going to be sad to see them go.  Plus, when they return from Florida, Tyler will be very close to turning one year old.  Say it ain't so!

I don't know who enjoys Tyler Time the most, my sweet boy or his Mamaw Dot and Papaw Bob.
