Ashley Judd, what?

Rich and I are making our way down to Gainesville for the UK / Florida game on September 25th. We will be going with Rich's buddy, "Kappy" and his girlfriend Jessica whose father has Gator season football tickets on the 25 yard line. Both were so kind to fly into Louisville for our wedding on that cold February afternoon and that meant the world to both of us.

Rich met Kappy while doing his internship with Howard Stern during the summer of 2001 in New York City. They have remained close friends since leaving NYC once their time with Stern was complete. Kappy is a HUGE Gators fan who earned his undergrad degree from The University of Florida. For a couple years now, we have talked about coming down to The Swamp to watch UK and Florida battle it out. This year that dream is becoming a reality and we can't be more excited.

We will be leaving Louisville Thursday afternoon and making a pit stop in Nashville for dinner with some of Rich's Nashville friends. After eating, we are going to drive a little past Atlanta and spend the night in a random hotel. Friday morning we will sleep in a bit and drive the rest of the way to Gainesville. Kappy and Jessica live in Miami so they have about a two and a half hour drive ahead of them as well. We plan to meet that afternoon for dinner and drinks.

Saturday morning is game day with kick off at 7 PM. We will be tailgating all day and I can't wait!

Yesterday morning, Rich and I received a very special email from Kappy... there is a possibility that Ashley Judd will be sitting with us at the game... read that again... Ashley Judd, who is a HUGE Wildcats fan may be sitting with us. Kappy's buddy is filming a movie with "her, Harry Connick, Jr., and Morgan Freeman Saturday. They are filming in the Tampa area for 3 months. He is coming up to the game. He is going to try to see if she wants to join him and we will be able to get her good tix. That would be bad-as."

I can't wait and Go C-A-T-S!

Kentucky has played Florida 60 times since their first meeting in 1917. They have 10 wins at home and only 7 wins in the Swamp. Only 5 of those 17 victories have come since 1957. That leaves 43 wins for the Florida Gators, a 71.7% winning ratio on those 60 games. The Gators are a dreaded opponent for the Wildcats.

Could this be the year UK finally upsets the Gators? We will wait and see...
