This past weekend seven of us celebrated Jennifer's last weekend as a single lady. We are all preparing for her beautiful wedding on October 2nd, so we spent the weekend at the lake. On the drive to Rough River, we stopped at the Zappos Outlet for some much needed retail therapy. All of us walked out with at least one pair of shoes for dirt cheap, of course. Right now, all their shoes are an additional 50% off so we felt like we hit the jackpot. I managed to purchase two pairs of heels and the cutest pair of Puma tennis shoes.
Jennifer's fiance, Travis, his parents have a lake house that is beautiful inside and out(no roughing it for us). We spent all day Saturday knee deep in girl talk, boys, wedding plans, hair, make-up, shoes and more gossip. The weather wasn't the greatest so we decided to stay in and enjoy each others company. Sunday we awoke to sunny skies so we walked down to the dock and enjoyed morning coffee on the boat. It was relaxing to watch nature at its finest and the many fish that were jumping about. The lake house is inside a cove so there wasn't any boat traffic to speak of so all the sounds were from the animals nearby. I could have spent all day on the lake soaking in the peacefulness.
Best wishes to Jennifer as she spends the next couple of weeks stressing about all the last minute wedding details. I remember my uncomfortable stress level as though it was yesterday and I never want to feel that way again! I am really looking forward to their wedding. The wedding and reception are both outside at Locust Grove so my only wish is that the weather remains calm and not a cloud in the sky.
